Sextortion is a very old concept and today the crime has become digital and cyber-sextortion is spreading fast.
The Center for Strategic Litigation (CSL) a Tanzania based not-for-profit organisation that seeks to advance the vision of a just and tolerant society, which works at the interface of advocacy and litigation, reached out to Dua Associates to conduct a research on the laws related to sextortion.
The comprehensive pro bono research the Firm undertook involved analysing existing Indian law with a view to understand in what ways the laws enable victims’ access to justice and in what ways, if any, they act as a barrier for victims’ access to justice.
This research was intended to provide a basis and inform CSL’s litigation and advocacy work on addressing sextortion in Tanzania.
