Kunal has over 15 years of experience as a seasoned legal practitioner including over 5 years as a competition/antitrust lawyer. Post joining Dua Associates in 2015, he has contributed to developing this practice and has played a key role in several significant competition and anti-trust matters handled by the Firm.
Kunal is also experienced in the areas of mergers and de-mergers including cross border mergers, acquisitions, private equity transactions, general corporate advisory as well as litigation and arbitration matters. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating transaction documents including share purchase agreements, shareholders agreements, joint venture agreements, business transfer agreements, etc. Kunal has also advised clients on foreign direct investment structures and entry level strategies as well as several legal and regulatory issues particularly in relation to the Companies Act, 2013.He also advises on competition related matters including merger control filings with the Competition Commission of India.
Kunal regularly writes on several competition law issues including for The Briefcase, the quarterly newsletter of the Firm . He also publishes Competition Monthly, a monthly newsletter on competition laws that presents some key highlights and updates, for private circulation.
Kunal holds a Master of Laws in International Business Laws from Queen Mary, University of London
